CD Rated: Anthony Burger (The Kingsmen Years)

Artist: Anthony Burger
Title: The Kingsmen Years

RATING: 3 1/2 Stars

Nutshell Analysis: The first fourteen hymns alternate between full band cuts that generally have a more joyous, romping mindset and
meditative selections featuring just a piano. The final six selections are familiar Christmas songs, five of which are piano only. Burger made better quality recordings later in his career, but this CD is a great reminder of a time when he was more prone to just let it rip.
