-----------August 6, 2007CD Rated: Jimmy Dooley (Things Are Looking Different)Artist: Jimmy Dooley Title: Things Are Looking Different RATING: 3 1/2 Stars Nutshell Analysis: Jimmy Dooley writes all ten songs on Things Are Looking Different, sings them, and for good measure, produces the recording. He's a very good songwriter and a decent enough singer when it comes to certain songs. This CD stumbles mostly due to his production and vocal arranging choices...too busy instrumentation, overdone effects, sometimes odd background vocal parts, and sometimes buried lead vocals. As a collection that song-smith Dooley is pitching to other artists, this CD is fine.
