Salad Dressing Snobbery…at Mickey Dees?

A few days ago when I ordered a salad at our local McDonald’s, I asked for Thousand Island dressing.

“We don’t have Thousand Island.”

I asked what they did have, and she recited about ten varieties. I settled for Ranch (and it was very good). The irony didn’t really strike me until today. Isn’t that “special sauce” on a Big Mac remarkably similar to Thousand Island dressing?

Could it be possible that McDonald’s snubs association with Thousand Island dressing in an effort to perpetrate the notion that their burger sauce is unique?

BTW, the company that makes McDonald’s dressings (Newman’s Own) does make a Thousand Island dressing. (They call it “Two Thousand Island“). Mickey Dee’s just doesn’t carry it. Weird.

Hey, they do not have to offer Thousand Island dressing because I think each restaurant has a thousand fans base.
Here is a piece of advice wen ordering the Sweet Tea $1.00 special.

Order the sweet tea with no ice and go over to the tonic/soda/pop machine and add just a little ice.
You can get more tea for your money.

Something else when you go to the photography studio for that special portrait.
Do not settle for a blank background for the picture.
You get more for your money if you select an image background and your friends will be happy.
