CD Review: Kingdom Heirs (When You Look At Me)

RATING: 4 1/2 Stars
Label: Sonlite Records
Producer: Arthur Rice and Jeff Collins
Website: www.kingdomheirs.com

Song Titles: “On The Gloryland Way,” “Biblically Correct,” “He Locked The Gates,” “Help Me Lord,” “Fire Away,” “Turnin’ Loose,” “As Good As I Can Be,” “Steppin’ On The Stars,” “When The Story Of My Life Is Told,” “Jesus Showed Up,” “When You Look At Me,” and “The Empty Tomb Says It All”

Summary: For When You Look At Me, the Kingdom Heirs draw heavily from the songwriting talents of Dianne Wilkinson. Nine of the twelve tracks come from her abundant supply of well-constructed lyrics and expressive melodies. The songs on this CD seem familiar right away, even though the lyrics are new. This is due to the tried and true style of the Kingdom Heirs as well as the manner in which the lyrics are arranged.

Then again, while we are talking about the cover artwork, the same should be said for the bad photography, AND for the stupid concept. Let’s hope the cd sounds good enough to get people past the outrageously bad packaging!
