Signature Sound headed back out alone?
According to a post by Daniel Mount, it seems that Signature Sound may be headed out from under the Gaither umbrella to do more dates on their own. If this is indeed the case, I hope that they can keep the momentum going that they built up while under Bill’s wing.
It’s not often that a group just starting out (even with a recognizable name) has the opportunity to experiment and test different waters without risking financial hardship and backlash from the smaller church market. In a way, Bill has given SS a steady paycheck to try out what works and what doesn’t. Now that they’ve seemed to have found their own niche, the time seems to have arrived for them to take that built-in audience and do their own thing.
This just leaves me to wonder if Bill is considering making changes to the Homecoming shows. In essence, the shows over the past couple years were three or four opening acts, followed by Signature Sound & the GVB. With SS out of the equation, perhaps Bill is going to start doing more dedicated GVB shows, perhaps a sign that the Homecoming series is winding down??
