Former Southern Gospel Singer On American Idol

Dee Ann Bailey’s Facebook status indicates that Bryan Walker is appearing on the new season of American Idol. Walker is a former member of the Dixie Melody Boys. He’s the son of David Walker, who also sang with the Dixie Melody Boys and the Singing Americans.

Phelps doesn’t qualify for the contest. All contestants are between the ages of 16 and 28…plus they have no professional attachments (no talent agent, recording contract, etc.)

Bryan is my cousin through marriage and I think it’s pretty awesome that God has given him a platform to share hope as well as his faith. The particular singer is irrelevant if the motives and intent are where they belong.
