Mark Trammell knew what he was doing when he hired Pat Barker. Pat is one of the best bass singers there is in Southern Gospel. Just listen to him sing “How Big Is God”.
His addition to the new Mark Trammell Quartet will certainly boost the popularity of the Quartet. Both my husband and I look forward to hearing the Trammells with Pat at “Bill Bailey’s Winter Gospel Convention” in Palmetto, Florida in February.

This is a great addition for MTT – but I can’t help but feel bad for the Dixie Echoes.

We of Southern Sound want to add our best wishes to Pat as well. Pat is a class act in every respect, and we have grown to respect and love him as a great friend. We also want to send best wishes to the Dixie Echoes in their search for a replacement bass singer. We pray that the search will be fruitful in a short period of time. Best wishes to both Mark Trammel Quartet, The Dixie Echoes and to our great friend, Pat Barker.

I had not heard Pat Barker sing – the Dixie Echoes just never come close enough. I listened to several songs on You Tube – Wow!! He has a wonderful voice and great stage presence. He will be a great addition for Mark Trammell. I pray that God will bless them as they move forward. I feel bad for the Dixie Echoes but am sure they will weather this transition and they will also be in my prayers.
