Olympic Gold Cookies

I just saw Olympic skiing star Lindsay Vonn on The Tonight Show

Am I the only one who thinks the “medals” look like lopsided cookies? Here’s a clip that includes some footage of Vonn behind the scenes after the show:

As an oversensitive Canadian, I’m insulted. As someone who likes cookies, I want a bite of the golden cookie!

I’m very disappointed in you for supporting Leno’s return to the Tonight Show.

Why would I fault Leno for a situation his bosses botched?

1. The whole situation with him leaving was not Leno’s idea. NBC gave him a five year notice, then followed through with it. Then, rather than risking him going to another network, kept him around.
2. Conan, by the way, didn’t generate the numbers, so it’s more Conan’s fault than it is Leno’s. You have to admire Conan for walking away rather than moving to a later time slot, but in doing so, Conan put his entire staff out of work…which leads us to…
3. What was Leno supposed to do when NBC offered him the option of quitting or taking his old job back? Walk away, and lay off all of his employees?

Fundamentally, though, I don’t really care that much about the drama. I watch Leno on Hulu, so the fact that he changed time slots had little to do with when I watched. I watched him before and during the transition…no point in changing now.
