A Nutshell Review
Radio Days: The Cathedrals (Homeland)

by David Murray

The Cathedrals pay tribute to an era before television with Radio Days. In (pianist/producer) Roger Bennett's liner notes he says they were honored to take some songs that "have gone virtually unnoticed for 30 to 40 years" and "dust them off, sing them and put them back into service." Of course they also included some popular tunes. Current technology helped breathe fresh life into these traditional arrangements, and there's an abundance of vocal harmony as one would expect from a quartet. The song titles are: "Ride That Glory Train," "Mansion Over A Hilltop," "Hard Trials Will Soon Be Over," "Echoes From The Burning Bush," "I Know My Savior Is There," "I'm Gonna Serve My Lord," "The Love Of God," "The Light Of Love," "I've Been With Jesus," and "I'm Looking For Jesus."
