In God's Hands by Right Spirit includes eight songs written or co-written by producer and Journey Records head Zane King . The group is made up of siblings Mike , Rachel , and Cheri Shafer and Tom McKnight . Cheri co-wrote several songs with King and also contributed "Take Me Over" and "Our Redeemer Lives Always." McKnight wrote "You Were There."

Musical production on In God's Hands ranges from a modern pop feel on "I Can Climb Up This Hill" to laid back ballads like "'Til There's Nothing Left But You" to uptempo Nashville style tracks like "Take Me Over" and "Standin' On The Holy Word Of God." Vocals by this mixed quartet are good overall, but there's not anything particularly distinctive about the vocals on most songs. "His Peace Is Mine" is one exception...the soprano does a very good job on the second verse conveying the message in the lyric, taking the vocal up at just the right moment and finishing the song with an understated quality that's nice. The a cappella closer "Our Redeemer Lives Always" has a great vocal quality as well.

Right Spirit seems to be searching for a musical identity on In God's Hands , but it shows a great deal of promise. They excel at slower numbers that feature the soprano, allowing her enough time to interpret the lyrics for the listener.
