Healing:
Tony Gore & Majesty (Promised Land Recording)

by Brandon Coomer

It's a shame that Tony Gore & Majesty was not nominated for favorite trio in the Singing News Fan Awards this year. Maybe with the probable future number one song, "Watch and See", that will change.

The project starts with "Watch and See", which has been on the radio for a few months now and will probably be on the radio for a very long. The song tells of the crucifixion, the resurrection, and our Savior's eventual return. The slow pace of this song does nothing to calm the excitement generated with the words "See Him take the keys from satan, Watch Him shake the gates of hell."

The up beat "One Everlasting Day of Joy" shows the trio at their very best. "At His Feet" is a praise and worship song that features the Christ Church Choir as backup. "Why Would I Now" features Tony Gore and reminds us that if the Father has never let us down, why would He now. "Good Things" is a fast song that features new baritone singer Daniel Riley, son of Gold City's Tim Riley. Former Florida Boys tenor Greg Cook is featured on the beautiful, slow paced "Answer For the Lost." "When It's Time To Say Goodbye" is another slow song that features Tony. "Homesick For Heaven" is an off-beat song that tells why "We're homesick for Heaven, A place where we've never been." "I'm Never Alone" is yet another slow song that features Daniel.  "Hasn't God Been Good" is a fast song with a soul feel to it.  The classic "When He Was On the Cross" ends the project with a great performance by Greg Cook.

Tony Gore & Majesty is one of the most exciting groups around and though Healing is full of slow paced songs, you can feel their excitement as they spread the gospel. I have used forms of the word "excited" a lot in this review, yet that is about the only word that describes this group and this new project. Healing is the best release yet by Tony Gore & Majesty. If they are ever in your area, do yourself a favor and go see them. You will not be disappointed.
