Steady On is both the title and the theme of the new recording by Point Of Grace. Steady music with repeating catchy hook phrases, steady production by one of the best producers money can buy, steady singing by some talented female vocalists, and steady lyrics from the best writers make another project that should be a steady seller with any sort of steady marketing campaign. The obvious adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is apropos here.

12 tunes reside on Steady On. The title cut opens the recording. From there, musical energy levels rise to a peak that is reached on "The Song Is Alive." (Dave's Review Predicts: The ladies will open the concerts on their next tour with this tune.) An intriguing arrangement is used for "Drawing Me Closer." It begins with a slow repetition of the chorus that fades in and out, after which there's an acoustic guitar interlude, and finally the verse kicks in with a driving accompaniment. "The Wonder Of It All" is an inspirational anthem written by Brent Bourgeois and Michael W. Smith that speaks for complete surrender to God.

Steady On closes with an examination of one's self in "Who Am I?" Quotes from two "grace" hymns are embedded in this tune. Hopefully this will spark interest for a future hymns and/or cover tune project from Point Of Grace. Great vocalists such as these are in their finest form when they create new interpretations of classic standards, but to date Point Of Grace has recorded few cover tunes. ("Sing A Song" from Life Love and Other Mysteries is one.)

Will deliberate consistency in approach always breed success for Point of Grace? Time will tell. They've never claimed to be intent on blazing new or unique musical trails, but fine attention to detail at every step between the selection of material and the shipment of the resulting product has granted them exceptional success thus far. Expect more of the same from Steady On.
