All Star United delivers a hodge podge of rock influenced tunes for International Anthems For The Human Race. "Thank You, Goodnight" takes its cue from the country mega group Alabama while "Popular Americans" is given a Geoff Moore/"Why Should The Devil Have All The Good Music" pseudo live treatment. "Theme From Summer" has a happy Beatles feel going. "Worldwide Socialites Unite" has an alternative bent. Like DC Talk, All Star United excels at assembling and melding sounds originally made popular by others. On the CD at timecode 7:40 on the 11th track, the first "hidden tune" can be found. Another follows at 11:10, demonstrating what The Chipmunks would have sounded like as a rock band.

Lyrics are intriguing throughout, with frontman Ian Eskelin and guitarist Dave Clo doing the lion's share of the writing. They present unique thoughts, keeping a light hearted attitude without being trite.

From "Superstar:"

It must be our breeding
Call us like cattle we come stampeding
To the new romantics
Everybody wants a love titanic
And Tiger Beat keeps us on cue

International Anthems For The Human Race has a couple of serious moments. "I Need You Now" reflects on the frailty of man before God. "Put Your Arms Around Me" addresses the need for love and the shyness that accompanies relationships. Generally though, All Star United makes listening a blast of fun. Dig into the lyrics if you wish, and you'll find some real substance there. If you prefer your alternative without all the angst, International Anthems For The Human Race should fit the bill.
